Anderlecht was able to avoid a horror evening against the amateurs of Tubize-Braine, mainly thanks to Anders Dreyer (1 goal and 2 assists) and substitute Kasper Dolberg (hat trick in 21 minutes). The Purple & White did not have to impress, but could simply get the job done with class.

Tubize-Braine – Anderlecht in a nutshell
- Key moment
The breakthrough Crame gets a unique opportunity for Tubize-Braine to open the score just before the half hour, but he struggles too much with the deep ball. This action is immediately followed by a deep ball from Anderlecht that reaches Amuzu. De Bolle torpedoes the left winger and instead of 1-0 it becomes 0-1, after a penalty from Dreyer.
- Man of the Match
Anders Dreyer seemed on his way to the title of Man of the Match for a long time, but in the end we cannot ignore Kasper Dolberg and his hat trick. It wasn’t difficult at all, and the Dane certainly didn’t cheer.
- Remarkable
In the second half, Amando Lapage made his debut for Anderlecht, the grandson of icon Paul Van Himst. A little less refined than his grandfather – we saw that with his yellow card – but that is no shame as a central defender.
Dreyer the turntable, Dolberg the finisher
Things have been messy again at Anderlecht in recent days; has it ever been different? In the classic against Club Brugge it fell through the lower limit, a few days later Jesper Fredberg was pushed aside for Olivier Renard, something that many fans find difficult to accept given his Standard history. More about that later.
On paper, no fewer than 3 Hazards could have come into action in this derby. We were able to eliminate the injured Thorgan Hazard in advance, at Tubize-Braine Kylian Hazard had to be happy with a role as a substitute, while Ethan Hazard did not even make the score sheet.
In the first half, Anderlecht found it difficult to hide the fact that they were searching, although they quickly had two enormous opportunities. Anders Dreyer and Zanka left them behind.
Dreyer was efficient from 11 meters, after goalkeeper De Bolle had blocked the way of Amuzu who had broken through.
Just before the penalty we saw Dreyer and Luis Vazquez arguing about who would take it. The Argentinian walked off with a dismissive gesture, although after a brief reflection he continued to wish Dreyer good luck. Moments later, Vazquez could have scored with the 0-2. He was too wild in the finish. It wasn’t going to be his night.

The second half started with a protest action by the Anderlecht fans (see above). The new sporting director Oliver Renard had to watch with dismay from the stands as banners with texts such as “Renard not welcome” and “Noblesse = renard argenté”, a reference to ‘silver fox’ Michel Verschueren, his legendary predecessor.
In the meantime, the match continued quietly until Kasper Dolberg made his entrance. In 2 minutes he scored twice on a pass from Dreyer. As if it were a practice match, the stoic Dane barely celebrated his goals.
He also did not do that with the 0-4, which fell during what looked like an offensive by Tubize-Braine. Goalkeeper De Bolle slid wide of the ball and it was a piece of cake for the IJskonijn.
0-4, a result that Anderlecht can come home with, but which, given the game, did not remove all doubts. Kortrijk Sunday may be a better indicator.
Hubert: “This should give confidence for Sunday”
- David Hubert (coach Anderlecht): “Deserved, but you always have to be careful in such a match. It remained tricky until the 0-2. You know that you have the ball a lot and have to compete against a wall. But mission accomplished, with a solid performance. That should give us confidence for the match on Sunday (against Kortrijk).”
End: logical victory for Anderlecht
It wasn’t all that impressive, but that wasn’t necessary to put away amateur club Tubize-Braine. Anderlecht continues to convert, we especially remember substitute Kasper Dolberg’s hat trick.
We are in the last minute of extra time. We can’t expect much anymore.
Anderlecht did what it had to do, played a normal match. After the break you noticed the logical difference in level.
Bert Sterckx (Sporza)
Just before extra time, Tubize-Braine knocks on the door again. Gallito tries to outwit Kikkenborg, in vain.
Yellow for Van Himst … er … Lapage
Amando Lapage, the grandson of Paul Van Himst, also makes an appearance, albeit with a poorly timed sliding tackle that earns him a yellow card.
GOAL: Dolberg with the hat trick!
Rarely has a player cheered so little on a hat-trick as now. Did Kasper Dolberg cheer at all? A lot went wrong at Tubize-Braine in the run-up. Goalkeeper De Bolle misses the deep ball, allowing Dolberg to score with a cat’s paw.
Anderlecht would like nothing more than to finish this match at ease, but that is without counting on a fiercely aggressive Tubize-Braine.
Dolberg is looking forward to a flawless hat trick, but he will have to finish better than just now. His slider from the right goes wide by two meters.
Rabon Hazard
Kylian Hazard wants to do justice to his surname with a piece of art. A rabona indeed. It would have been even better if he had also been able to reach a fellow player. Now the ball falls rather suddenly lost among a bunch of Anderlecht players.
Tubize-Braine would love to end this gala evening with a goal. The white shirts have been shooting from almost all corners of the field in recent minutes.
Goalkeeper Kikkenborg is determined to keep a clean sheet, although less can be said about Anderlecht’s defense. Crame gets a lot of space to shoot, Kikkenborg parries.
Take out Garlito
Captain Garlito puts Kikkenborg to work again with a flame from about 20 meters.
Exchange rate
We get 5 new players in one fell swoop: 3 at Tubize-Braine (Kylian Hazard, Prso and Toutou) and 2 at Anderlecht (Rits and Lapage).
GOAL: Dolberg again!
Second goal in two minutes from Kasper Dolberg. Edged offside, he still heads the slightly too high cross over De Bolle and into the goal. Just like with his previous goal, Dolberg hardly cheers.
