The Spanish Badminton Championships, in the U17 category, are held in the individual modality by registration of the best 48 rackets in the country, both female and male, as long as they have sufficient ranking for it, a fact that due to the effort and results obtained throughout the year 2024, coinciding with the Season, have been achieved by Jimena Alonso and Marcos Romero, the two Albatros have traveled to Palos de la Frontera (Huelva), competing in direct elimination, with even previous rounds, until reaching the final.
The albatross Jimena Alonso, being a first-year U17 and current number 34 in Spain, won the first round prior to the Bulgarian Ivayla Valentinova, who competes with the Valencian Badminton club Enguera, to find herself in the second round with the Asturian Belén Soto, of the Badminton Oviedo, current number 8 in the national ranking, which they also managed to beat, to reach the Round of 16, where they did not She was able to beat Inés Poncela, ranked number 11, a Galician from Badminton San Amaro, to finish classified in a wonderful ninth place in the most important Championship at the national level.
