London –
Edu Gaspar officially resigned his position as Sports Director Arsenal. Edu left because he wanted to look for new challenges.
This decision was announced on Arsenal’s official website, Monday (4/11/2024) evening local time or early Tuesday morning WIB. This also answers the rumors circulating earlier this week.
No wind, no rain, suddenly it was reported that Edu would leave Arsenal. Edu is said to want to find a more challenging position than the current one.

This was confirmed directly by the man from Brazil who was looking for a new atmosphere after joining the club in 2019.
“This is a very difficult decision to make. Arsenal has given me the opportunity to work with many extraordinary people and be a special part of the club’s history. This has been an extraordinary journey and I am grateful for the support of Stan, Josh, Tim and Lord Harris,” said Ed.
“I am very happy to be able to work with great colleagues in the men’s, women’s and academy’s first teams, and especially my good friend, Mikel.”
“It’s time for me to pursue a different challenge. Arsenal is always in my heart. I wish the club and its supporters all the best.”
Edu was previously a former Arsenal player in the 2000s with 127 appearances and 15 goals. In Edu’s hands, Arsenal made several top signings including Declan Rice who became the club’s most expensive player.
Edu is reportedly being approached by Nottingham Forest owner Evangelos Marinakis to be given the position of CEO of Football Group.
