EHC Red Bull Munich has signed former NHL professional Will Butcher, 26. As the four-time German champion announced, the US defender comes from the Kazakh club Barys Astana. Butcher played a total of five years in the North American professional ice hockey league NHL, where he was under contract with the New Jersey Devils for a long time. He won the bronze medal with the US team at the 2018 World Cup. “We were looking for a strong defender and found him in Will. He is experienced, in the prime of ice hockey and has proven several times that he can play at the highest level,” said sports director Christian Winkler about Munich’s new number four.
