El Águila presents the Technical Staff of the Mexican Softball League 2024.

The Veracruz Eagle will dedicate this first season in the Mexican Softball League to the women of Veracruz who have broken barriers in all areas.

The passion and determination of the women of Veracruz will be represented in El Águila de Veracruz, which will compete in the 2024 Mexican Softball League and will have Flor Imperial as manager.

Flor Imperial Meza is originally from Mexicali, Baja California, and has an academic background in Physical Activity and Sports from the Autonomous University of Baja California.

Flor Imperial’s experience is not only academic, as a player she was called up to the Mexican Softball Team and she is currently the coach and manager of the Women’s Team of the Magisterial League of Mexicali.

The leader of El Glorioso Femenil will be accompanied by a technical team made up of women who have excelled in baseball.

Marlen Lagunes, originally from Veracruz, will be the outfielders’ coach. Lagunes was awarded the State Sports Award in 2019 for Team Sports and Best Player of 2022 by the Mexican Baseball Federation. In addition, the Veracruz native won Bronze with the Mexican Baseball Team at the Pre-World Cup in Venezuela 2022.

Yamilet Lozano, originally from Zumpango, State of Mexico, will be the catching coach. Lozano has experience in national softball tournaments in the U22 and U25 categories with the Guerrero team, in addition to participating in international tournaments with the Poza Rica team. In 2022, Yamilet took two turns with El Águila de Veracruz in a preseason game in Zumpango.

Esthela Segovia will be the hitting coach. Segovia, from Tijuana, Baja California, was part of the Mexican Women’s Baseball Team that made it to the World Cup for the first time in 2019. The Tijuana native also participated with Mexico in the Women’s World Cup in Canada 2023. Esthela Segovia was preselected for the national Softball team in 2013.

On the technical team, he is complemented by Ana Tirado as physiotherapist, who since 2021 has performed this same role with El Águila in the LMB and Ysrael Rergis who will be the coach, who in addition to fulfilling this function with Veracruz in the Mexican Baseball League and in the Mexican Winter League, was also the physical trainer of the Mexican Women’s Softball Team that competed in the Tokyo 2020 Olympic Games.

This technical team is headed by the Sports Manager, Andrea Valdez, originally from Mazatlán, Sinaloa and who is a fundamental part of the Sports Directorate of El Águila de Veracruz in the Mexican Baseball League.

We want to dedicate this first season of the Mexican Softball League to all the women from Veracruz who have broken the mold and set a precedent in Mexico: from actresses, singers, cooks, activists, astronauts, teachers, athletes, designers, researchers and writers, who, like the softball players, have broken down gender barriers.
