Elze/Tokushima – The Lower Saxony Judo Association now maintains a long-standing exchange with the Lower Saxony partner region in Japan, the Tokushima prefecture. Tokushima is a large city and administrative headquarters of the prefecture of the same name on the island of Shikoku, near the Japanese main island of Honshu. This year a female delegation traveled to the judo motherland. MTV athlete Insa Nehm, who experienced a particularly successful sporting year in 2024, was one of the six judoka nominated for this. This honor was also given to MTV trainer Svenja Grabert, who was available on site as a supervisor and contact person for the girls’ team aged 13 to 15. A trip to the motherland of one’s own sport is a dream for every judoka – and the two Elzer judoka were also deeply impressed by the impressions of the completely different culture. In addition to judo, there were also numerous cultural activities on the program.
