Environment, Unife present at the Cop29 summit in Baku: two commitments scheduled

Also this year theUniversity of Ferrara will participate with some of its experts in the 29th United Nations Framework Conference on Climate Change, the annual summit dedicated to global climate negotiations, which will be held in Bakuin Azerbaijan.

To intervene for Unife at the global event dedicated to climate change and sustainability, there will be Massimiliano Mazzanti, director of the Department of Economics and Management, Stefano Grignolio, professor of the Department of Life Sciences and Biotechnology and Asia Guerreschi, research fellow of the Department of Economics and Management.

Universities and youth in education, mitigation and adaptation for climate initiatives

The first event, organized by the Polytechnic of Turin for the Network of Universities for Sustainable Development, of which Unife is part, will be held on 12 November from 5.30pm to 7pm and will explore the role of universities and young people in education and implementation of concrete strategies against climate change. Crucial topics such as the circular economy, the anthropic water cycle, the transport system and energy production will be covered.

Design and Promote Integrated Approaches for Carbon-Neutral and Resilient Cities

The second event, which will be held on Thursday 21st from 1.15pm to 2.45pm, is organized by the Bocconi University of Milan, the European Association of Environmental Resource Economists and the University of Ferrara. Massimiliano Mazzanti will speak by illustrating the contribution of the Seeds, Cercis research centers and the Climate Circular Coop project in the development of resilient and carbon-neutral cities.

The initiative will offer an analysis of innovative approaches to achieve carbon neutrality and urban climate resilience, with a focus on governance, financial sustainability and social impact, to support a just transition.
