Ex-NBA professional shoots Bayern

Bayern Munich‘s basketball players missed their sixth win in a row in the EuroLeague. At Fenerbahce Istanbul, world champion coach Gordon Herbert’s team lost 76:87 (30:35), but with six wins and three defeats they are still confidently in a play-off place in the European elite class.

The guests from Munich remained focused throughout the game, but were unable to find a way to counter Nigel Hayes-Davis: the Fenerbahce forward scored 18 points in the third quarter alone, delighted his own fans in the hall and brought Istanbul into double figures at the start of the final period in the lead.

Hayes-Davis holds the EuroLeague record

The American, who set a EuroLeague record with a 50-point game against Alba Berlin in the preseason, scored a total of 25 points – all after the half-time break. Carsen Edwards (24) impressed once again for Bayern.

Before his time at Fenerbahce, Hayes-Davis also played in the NBA and made short appearances for the Los Angeles Lakers, Toronto Raptors and Sacramento Kings.

On Thursday (8.30 p.m./MagentaSport) there will be a German EuroLeague duel between FCBB and Alba in Munich.
