Expanding Palates & Minds event set for November 13

DEI-EVENT_OURECWELLOU faculty, staff and students are invited and encouraged to attend Expanding Palates & Mindsan afternoon and evening event featuring food, fun, insights, and new and diverse connections.

Hosted by University Recreation and Well-Being and set for 3-7 p.m. on Wednesday, November 13, the event will include selections of international cuisines from local restaurants and new tastes from around the world.

Attendees can participate for free by swiping in with a Grizz ID at the Rec Center or with the Rec Well App. Guests are welcome with the purchase of a $15 guest pass, which will include use of the entire Rec facility.

Scheduled events include:

Food Tasting • 3-5 p.m. • Studio 919

Sample a selection of international cuisines from local restaurants and explore new tastes from around the world. (First come, first served)

Book Exchange • 3-5 p.m. • Outside of Studio 919

Bring a book to trade with someone from a different background. Exchange stories, ideas, and experiences through literature!

Share Your Strength • 3-5 p.m. • Lower Lobby

Explore a variety of inclusive fitness workouts and be part of a community that embraces all body types and capabilities. Share what “Strong” means to you while connecting with others.

Badminton • 3-5 p.m. • 3 Court Gym

Join us where sport meets culture as we celebrate the national sport of Indonesia, badminton!

Bollywood Fitness Class • 5-6 p.m. • Studio 919

Bollywood fitness draws inspiration from the vibrant music and dance of India’s Bollywood film industry. These classes blend traditional Indian dance moves with contemporary exercise routines, offering a fun and effective workout experience.

Sit Volleyball • 6-7 p.m. • 3-Court Gym

Experience an inclusive twist on volleyball! Join us for a seated version of the sport that’s easy to join and enjoy.
