Jan-Christian Dreesen remains CEO of FC Bayern despite the recent discussions about him. The football record champions announced this after their regular supervisory board meeting on Monday evening. Accordingly, Dreesen is extending his contract, which expires in the summer of 2025, by two years until June 30, 2027. The decision was made “unanimously,” FC Bayern announced.
“Jan-Christian Dreesen took over as CEO during a difficult phase and quickly led FC Bayern München AG back into calmer waters. We want to continue on this path together,” explained club president and supervisory board chairman Herbert Hainer. The 57-year-old Dreesen has been part of the Munich board since February 2013. After ten years as head of finance, he succeeded the dismissed Oliver Kahn as CEO in May 2023.
However, rumors have recently been doing the rounds that Dreesen is at risk of being replaced by Bayern. However, sports director Max Eberl put a stop to the rumors. The club management around Dreesen, financial boss Michael Diederich and himself “work together extremely trustingly and intensively,” said Eberl.
