First League Update: Meet the New Runner-Up and Key Highlights from Saturday’s Matches

Due to All Saints’ Day, which fell on November 1, the 15th round of the 1st league started on Saturday, not on Friday, as was the case with the previous rounds. Even though only six goals were scored in four matches on Saturday, there was no shortage of emotions.

It all started in Pruszków, where Znicz played against Stal Stalowa Wola. There was a big surprise in this match, because Stal won 1-0, and the only goal was scored by Sebastian Strózik. In this way, Stal can get much closer to leaving the relegation zone. The match between Kotwica Kołobrzeg and Odra Opole ended with the same result, won by the guests after a goal by Tomas Prikryl. At the same time, Odra broke a series of eight matches without a win.

Full control of Termalica in Łęczna. “We are extremely happy”

On Saturday, the teams at the top of the First League table also entered the game, fighting for promotion to the Ekstraklasa. Bruk-Bet Termalica Nieciecza won 2-0 against Górnik Łęczna, with Jakub Wróbel and Gabriel Isik scoring the goals. There were a lot of inaccuracies in Górnik’s game, and Marcin Brosz’s team fully controlled what was happening on the pitch. In this way, at least for several dozen minutes, Termalica’s advantage over Arka Gdynia increased to eight points.

– We are very happy. We know how difficult the terrain is on the Górnik Łęczna pitch. I’m happy with Kuba Wróbel’s goal. Just a month ago he was fighting to be in the national team. We want Termalica to be recognizable and every player who comes to Termalica to know what to expect. And we want to play just like today. We have to have such a team that on Tuesday there will be no tickets for the next match – said coach Brosz after the end of the match, among others. in conversation with TVP Sport.

An effective response from Arka and a beautiful goal by Vitalucci. The new runner-up of the 1st league

Arka Gdynia had, at least theoretically, a more difficult task than Termalica, because they played at home against Wisła Płock. It was supposed to be a great hit of the 15th round in the first league, but it was rather a one-sided match in which only Arka shone. The hosts won 2-0 after goals by Szymon Sobczak and Hide Vitalucci. Thus, Arka is still five points behind the leader. Vitalucci’s shot from outside the penalty area was the highlight of this match. In the 75th minute, Jakub Szymañski received a red card and Wisła finished the match weak.

In this way, Arka advanced to second place in the first league with 30 points and is two points more than Miedź Legnica. However, Miedź will play against Pogoń Siedlce in this round, so after a dozen or so hours there may be another change in the table.
