17 judoka from the Kano Bremerhaven judo school took part in the Adler Cup, an international youth tournament. In Frankfurt they met 1,600 talents from 140 clubs from over 30 countries, including Kazakhstan, Georgia, the Netherlands, Belgium, France, Poland, England and Switzerland.
Some Seesatdt judoka started in two or three age groups and impressed with their performances. Zhannat Tashtamirova (13 years old) won gold in the U14 and U17 classes. Ishan Dzhemaldinov (15) won silver in the U18 age group and gold in the U17 age group. Mansur Vakhaev (16) took home a bronze medal in the U17 and gold in the U18.
The Bremerhaven team leaves other clubs far behind
Ruslan Becker (12) showed special performances, winning gold in the U13, bronze in the U14 and silver in the U17. 15-year-old Salavat Akhiev won gold in the U17 age group, silver in the U21 and a good fifth place in the U18.
Further bronze medals went to Cristian Jalba (10) and Abu-Darda Tashtamirov (11). Liam Cadir (13) won a silver medal. Mariam Pecaeva (13) and Mansur Sautiev (13) also won gold. Aaron Marin (10), Abdulrahman AlAwad (11) and Abu-Darda Tashtamirov (11) achieved top five placements.
In the team ranking of all participating judoka, the Kano Bremerhaven judo school took 1st place with 84 points, ahead of Jahn Nürnberg 2012 and the Judo team Groningen (NL) with 57 points each. Third place went to Kenamju (NL) with 56 points. Coach Gheorghe-Laurentiu Marin is very proud of his judoka’s achievements: “To do so well in such a strong tournament is a huge success.”
