Værløse won away from Gentofte. A good indication of the strength of the two teams.

Then on Friday night it came. First team match victory of the year for Værløse Badminton’s first team in the Badminton League.
In the seventh round, Værløse faced the nearest rival from Gentofte. It is mostly likely that the two teams will meet again in a playoff match to avoid a relegation match against the second place from the 1st division.
It was therefore a nice feeling for the Værløse players to stand with the victory. The victory was founded by Andreas Søndergaard, who, together with Amalie Cecilie Kudsk and Ditlev Jæger Holm respectively, took the first and fifth victory in the team match.
Especially in the 1st men’s doubles, winning over Rasmus Kjær Pedersen and Jeppe Bay Madsen was not a given.
Amalie Cecilie Kudsk was also involved in the women’s doubles, where she was partnered with Julie Finne Ipsen and won safely over Christine Busch and Marie Røpke.
As expected, Julie Dawall Jakobsen won safely in the 1st women’s single, while it was closer in the 2nd women’s single, where Laura Fløj Thomsen won over Sofie Karmann.
5-4 gives seven points to Værløse, who are now in ninth place with 25 points. There are 11 points up to Gentofte and 13 points up to Team Skælskør-Slagelse. The position is somewhat deceiving, as Værløse’s next opponent is Triton Aalborg, who have only won two individual matches throughout the season. Værløse can close the gap to Gentofte with a big win in that match.
In the last round, Værløse face Skovshoved. The last two rounds will not be played until the end of February.
