TYN NAD VLTAVA – Loyal Olympia fans have been waiting a long time. All autumn… Those who went to football on the holiday of November 17 were rewarded for their patience. They saw three goals in eight minutes and at the end they could celebrate their first home win with the football players from Týn nad Vltava. What about the fact that Olympia only succeeded in this year’s dernier, the team did well mainly outside, so coach Jan Meidl Jr. parked his team in the middle of the table before the winter. Vladimír Dobal, the author of nine goals, led Olympia offensively. However, another support ends.
A warm farewell to Lukáš Maxa, who did Olympia a good service. Handing over the jersey with the name tag, the last photo together – and then hrrr to them! The Týn team entered this year’s dernier against Sokol Sezimovo Ústí determined and decided it with two goals right at the start. In the third minute, Jan Mezera took advantage of the fact that goalkeeper Sedloň could not keep the ball on the difficult terrain, and sent Týn into the lead with a shot from the small goal area. The home team flew at the opponent and before Sokol looked around, he hunted the ball out of the net for the second time: Dobal’s shot hit the crossbar after a corner.
As soon as the game was played, the guests also contributed their bit to the mill in the hectic start. Martin Doubek reduced the score to 2:1 and the game began to level out. “We knew that we needed to win three points at home, and we approached the match accordingly,” praised coach Jan Meidl Jr., who took over the helm in the summer somewhat out of necessity. After only one season, Roman Hřib nodded to the divisional offer from Hluboká and the management looked for a replacement for him in vain. Until the patriot Meidl pulled the thorn out of the club’s heel and moved into the coaching role at A. Before he expected… He leads i a teenager, a B, and at the same time takes care of the field, so he is the busiest man in Olympia, for whom football and the stadium have become a daily routine.
Under Meidl’s leadership, Olympia collected most of the points on foreign pitches. She was good at robbing outside, she was better in this discipline than such clubs as Malše Roudné and Olešník. “We had games at home when we should have scored more points, but we were rash, we made unnecessary mistakes. Outside, the pitches were usually smaller than ours, and that probably suited us. We played relaxed and we fought more,” reflects the Tyn coach. Given his role as a field administrator, the question arises whether he does not align the lines closer together, but Jan Meidl shakes his head with a smile: “No, no! We have to work even harder on physical condition, so that the home field is an advantage for us again, because as far as I can remember, it has always been like that.” Three won matches at the end of the autumn brought Týn to the levels where he would like to move. Without those nine points, Týn would be second to last. This is the tenth.
Nine goals by Vladimír Dobal
Experienced Vladimír Dobal scored the winning goal against Sezimov Ústí. In the fall, he hit for the ninth time. In the middle of the competition, he belongs to the ten elite gunners of the regional championship, which is reigned over by Viktor Kadlec from Rouden. “We know that Vláďa is a player with a difference. Even though he is already thirty-six years old, he is still an above-standard player for this competition and his goals are very important for us,” Jan Meidl appreciates the qualities of the playing assistant coach. We are looking for a shooter to second him. “It’s about preparation. If we force the players to be a little more responsible for training and matches, I think we don’t have a bad squad maybe they got chances, so we didn’t score goals,” the head coach looks back on the autumn.
The Tyn family said goodbye to Maxa
Now he lost a member of the basic lineup, Lukáš Maxa, who ended his engagement in Týn on Saturday. It must be added that he is leaving for good, which is also why his teammates entrusted him with the captain’s armband in the farewell duel. The audience supported the nice gesture, Max was accompanied by applause. “He is also over thirty, lives in Chlum near Třeboň and works in Germany during the week. He travels long distances, he has already traveled a lot during his career and we understand that driving a hundred kilometers to a match on the weekend is not the same,” Meidl outlined the reasons. He admits that replacing the midfielder will not be an easy task. Maxa leaves the team as the team’s best scorer, with seven assists to his credit. “He is an excellent team player, equipped with speed and strength, assertive… For us, he was certainly an excellent player who did his job here,” says the coach.
Olympia is well on its way to ticking off the main performance target for this season. This spring, she finished in an atmosphere of fear and uncertainty, which she does not want to repeat. Coaches Meidl and Dobal must not allow the players to succumb to the feeling that the spring of 2025 will be a walk in the park. “Those nineteen points against last year’s fourteen gives us a little more peace over the winter. But again, we are facing a tough lot at the beginning of spring! However, we would like to try to get somewhere in the middle of the table as quickly as possible, so that we don’t have problems with the fight for survival,” Jan Meidl Jr. looked into FK Olympie’s plans.
