The Detroit Lions and the extremely strong football star Amon-Ra St. Brown are still unstoppable in the NFL. St. Brown once again helped a lot in the Lions’ victory – this time with two touchdowns.

The German-American’s team literally overwhelmed the Jacksonville Jaguars on Sunday with a score of 52:6; it was Detroit’s eighth win in a row in the US professional league. Wide receiver St. Brown scored at least one touchdown in each of these successes, and against Jacksonville he even scored two for the first time this season. The 25-year-old only came away empty-handed in the first two games.

St. Brown caught eleven of eleven passes for 161 yards – a personal best in the NFL. For the first touchdown, the pass receiver ran undisturbed into the end zone after a short pass from Jared Goff, making the score 27:3. In the second, he caught the ball in the end zone after a Goff pass to make it 48-6.

Quarterback Goff outstanding

In a consistently convincing Lions team, other players besides St. Brown knew how to shine: Running back David Montgomery scored two touchdowns through running plays, quarterback Jared Goff also had outstanding values: 24 of 29 passes were received, he threw for a total of 412 yards, gaining space and delivering the pass for four touchdowns. Before Goff was rested in the final quarter, the Lions scored a touchdown at the end of each offensive series – and allowed the Jaguars only two field goals.

With nine wins from ten games, the Lions remain at the top of the NFC and therefore have the best prospects of home advantage in the playoffs. The strongest pursuers are the Philadelphia Eagles with one more defeat.

Pittsburgh shocks the Ravens

The fans saw far less spectacle than in Detroit at the top game in the AFC North between the Pittsburgh Steelers and the Baltimore Ravens. Russell Wilson led the Steelers to their eighth win in the tenth game at 18:16; for the quarterback it was the fourth success in his fourth appearance. Pittsburgh scored six field goals but went without a touchdown. Ravens quarterback Lamar Jackson had a really bad day.
