This week, a new cinematographic event in the BRESSON 2024-2025 season of great arthouse cinema, organized by Cinema San Giuseppe Theater with the patronage of the municipal administration of Brugherio, Department of Cultural Policies, a now traditional event and point of reference for all cinema enthusiasts.
Scheduled on the screen at via Italia 76, “Tatami”, the first collaboration between an Israeli director, Guy Nattiv and an Iranian, Zar Amir Ebrahimi.
Set during the world judo championships in Tbilisi, the film is an incessant and very tense drama that tells a story with a high political content, in which the Iranian judoka Leila and her coach Maryam receive an ultimatum from the Islamic Republic: Leila must pretend an injury and lose the match, avoiding advancing too far in the tournament and risking losing to the reigning Israeli champion. If she did not accept the order, she would be branded as a traitor to the State: obviously she has no intention of submitting to the diktat.
Wednesday 20 and Thursday 21 November 2024, also on Thursday at 3pm.
