Déjà abandoned for over 15 yearsit is no longer a few months away. In the fall of 2023, the Rouen Normandy Metropolis, owner of the premises, began to dust off the Maison Dautreme.
The idea was to find a buyer for this remains remarkableon the border between Elbeuf and Caudebec, to give it a second youth while highlighting its facade.
But since then, no more news.
An unsuccessful consultation
“The consultation launched last year was declared unsuccessful. We only hadonly one candidateand the proposal was not considered financially and technically appropriate,” indicates the Metropolis, in a short written response, on Friday November 15, 2024.
A year earlier, a manager had organized open days, to try to create excitement around the building, the construction of which is estimated at the beginning of the 20th century and which will inevitably need big jobs to regain its former glory.
“For us, there are two objectives: that there is a rehabilitation program, which we would like to be residential, and an enhancement of the architecture and the facade, which is included in the PLUI of February 2023 ″, explained Vincent Gonzalez, the development project manager for the Metropolis.
Another project in the future?
In the meantime, this ambition has taken a hit. But not to the point of abandoning all hope of bringing Maison Dautreme back to life.
“Joint work with the town of Elbeuf is underway to redefine the scope and directions of the projectto lead, perhaps, to a new consultation in 2025. We will communicate when the project is clarified and in the event of a consultation,” concludes the Métropole Rouen Normandie.
