Under Armor will host ‘UA NEXT 2024’ for domestic youth basketball players.
‘UA NEXT’ is a global program that selects youth athletes from around the world with the highest potential and provides support in various ways to help them grow into better athletes through Under Armor. Following last year’s ‘UA NEXT: CAMP SERIES KOREA’, this year’s event will be held at the Yonsei University gymnasium from the 16th to the 17th.
‘UA NEXT 2024′ selects 21 elite first-year high school basketball players across the country and provides a variety of programs to improve the players’ performance, from basketball skill training to mental training and conditioning methods.
On the first day of the ‘UA NEXT’ program, ▲profile shooting ▲UA NEXT and Under Armor brand introduction will be conducted, and a full-scale training session program will include ▲basketball combine ▲skill training. The basketball combine session includes tests such as vertical jump, 20m sprint, and lane agility to evaluate the strength, jumping ability, speed, and agility of participating players.
In addition, participating players will be evaluated for their accurate athletic ability by measuring physical details such as height, weight, wingspan, and reach. Afterwards, they will learn warm-up and recovery methods that professional players use during training and actual game days with professional trainers.
On the second day, ▲pick-up game ▲curry challenge ▲judge evaluation ▲awards ceremony are prepared. In the pick-up game session, participating players will form teams and show off their performances by playing actual games. Afterwards, they will have 100 seconds to shoot at 20 spots in order from number 1 to 20, and only if they make a successful shot will they be eligible for the next spot. A curry challenge match that can be moved to will also be held.
At the end of the two-day camp, a total evaluation of the 21 participating players will be conducted based on their performance. The judges are comprised of basketball experts from various categories, including KBL and WKBL commentators and basketball media reporters.
As a result of the judges’ evaluation, the top five ranked winners will receive Under Armor products and a special benefit of participating in UA NEXT CHINA, which will be held in China in December.
An Under Armor official said, “Through the second ‘UA NEXT 2024,’ held following last year, we will provide Korea’s elite basketball players with the best experience with programs and rewards of a type that has never been presented in Korea.” He added, “Afterwards, volleyball, “We plan to expand to various sports, including baseball, to become a sustainable program that can foster and support Korea’s elite youth athletes in a more systematic manner,” he said.
