French team: Aurélien Tchouameni injured in the ankle and absent for a month

Aurélien Tchouameni, captain during the October gathering, will not join the French team next Monday at Clairefontaine. The Real Madrid midfielder, victim of a twisted left ankle on Tuesday evening in the Champions League, is expected to miss a month of competition according to our information and will therefore not be called up by Didier Deschamps this Thursday for the Champions League matches. League of Nations against Israel and Italy on November 14 and 17. Real Madrid confirmed this injury via a press release this Wednesday afternoon, without mentioning the duration of unavailability.

The former Monegasque (36 caps, 3 goals), left at half-time of the match against AC Milan (1-3) after receiving a blow, left the stadium limping. He underwent tests this morning which confirmed the nature of his injury. Appearing in great difficulty in the first period against the Lombards, Tchouameni played 15 matches this season with the Merengue, including 14 as a starter in all competitions. He had only missed one La Liga match, on September 14 at Real Sociedad (0-2), due to a foot injury.

For this gathering, Didier Deschamps recorded, however, in midfield, the combined returns of Adrien Rabiot (48 caps) and N’Golo Kanté, both of whom were not called up in October. Without a club in September, the “Duke” has since signed a contract with OM, but had only played two half hours with Marseille before the announcement of the October list. Deschamps had judged it “wiser for him if he had a few more weeks to perfect his condition”. Starting in the last three matches of the Marseille club, he continues his rise in power and is getting closer, little by little, to his best level.

N’Golo Kanté, captain in September against Belgium when Kylian Mbappé was a substitute (2-0), but absent in October due to injury, should bring his experience (63 caps) for two matches which should logically allow France, which is five points ahead of Belgium (3rd) in its group, to ensure its qualification for the quarter-finals of the League of Nations.
