Hakim Ziyech (31 years old), a footballer born in Netherlands but who also has Moroccan nationality, hates Israel. And he doesn’t hide it. The Turkish Galatasaray striker has been the protagonist of several controversies related to the eternal conflict of Middle East. The last one, this Thursday.
Ziyech posted on his account Instagram a story in which he comments on the serious incidents that occurred in Amsterdamwhere fans of the Israeli soccer club Maccabi Tel Aviv were attacked by pro-Palestinian Dutch youths.
In this publication, under a short video of the riots, Ziyech writes a phrase in English, somewhere between derogatory and mocking, clearly directed at the Israeli followers who are trying to flee the attacks: “If they are not women and children, then they run away.” Behind them are four emoticons in the same tone of mockery and, in case there was any doubt, he adds: “Long live free Palestine”.
Last May, the former player of Heerenveen, Twente, Ajax and Chelsea He already celebrated the Turkish League title won with Galatasaray wearing a large Palestinian flag.
And after the summer, in September, the Moroccan international forward shared another controversial story on Instagram. Overwhelmed by a video in which Israeli soldiers are seen attacking a building, he wrote the following: “Let’s make one thing clear: fuck Israel and all the countries they support that behavior.”
