By 201 votes for the list of the former vice-president of the Martinique football league against 168 votes for that of Jocelyn Germé’s PACT, the majority of club presidents chose change in continuity.
They considered that the results of the previous league council were satisfactory and that Georges Dsuquesnay must be given the necessary confidence to continue his action with his team for Martinican football for the next 4 years. Both in management with the clubs and at the level of competitions, whether local, in exchange with clubs in France, or at CONCACAF level.
Deserving lists
It is not a sigh of relief for the new president, but rather a call to unity launched by Georges Dusquesnay:
I wouldn’t say phew, nou pran yo, because I would say that football won. When you are a member of the League, when you are leader of the League, you win all the time. Because the teams that are in front of you, that are playing, are your teams. I congratulate the presence of the other list which has given new life, perhaps, to this football and which has also opened up democracy since we need to be able to express ourselves on this football.
The disappointment could be seen on the faces of PACT members after the results were announced. Believing that his team’s part of the work has been done. Jocelyn Germé:
Our pride is to have been faithful to the legend of the Hummingbird, that is to say that we have done our part of the work. The objective was that. Basically, now, this assumed that if we wanted to implement certain actions that we were in power, we were not in power by the will of the majority of club presidents and we bowed to this choice. What we have seen is that the lines have moved.
