German Judo Association – Trainer OF THE YEAR 2023

German Judo Association – Trainer OF THE YEAR 2023

Traditionally, this year too, the award was given to “Trainer of the Year 2023″ at the German Championships for men and women on October 26th, 2024 in Stuttgart.

For the first time, this great honor was awarded to a trainer from the Charis sports club.

In the category special commitment Our long-time trainer and member of the board Udo Tietz received the “Trainer of the Year 2023” award from DJB President Thomas Schynol and Judo Magazine editor Oliver Kauer-Berk.

Udo is a returner. In 2011, after a 32-year break, he put on his judogi and blue belt again and has been fascinated by judo ever since. He now holds the 4th Dan, is a trainer with an A license, the first chairman of his club and is even a member of the DJB kata squad. His club has become his second home. There he looks after the adults, the parent-child group, the kata training and, after further training, he also teaches Taiso.

Among the first to congratulate us on site were, among others, the winner of the “Trainer of the Year – in the top-class sports category” Claudia Straub from TSV Munich Großhadern as well as our President of the Berlin Judo Association and Vice President of the German Judo Federation Thomas Jüttner.

Dear Udo, the whole club is incredibly proud of you and is looking forward to many great years with you as a coach on the mat.

Congratulations.
