Busy weekend, the one just passed, for theASD Judo Wedge away to Roncadelle (BS) per il Italian Trophyan important tournament which saw 566 athletes from 172 sports clubs compete.
They were present for the ASD Judo Cuneo Leonardo Ambrosio e Gianluca Sanna (in the 60 kg category where 62 judokas competed), who demonstrated all their tenacity and determination in front of a hall full of spectators.
Ambrosio, despite increasing his level in each competition, unfortunately stopped in the quarter-finals after 3 matches, finishing in 9th place, while Sanna, easily winning 4 matches concluded in record time, reached the semi-final against the top seed Italian ranking of the category. The match, quite exciting, was fought beyond the time limit (golden score) essentially on equal terms, ultimately ending in favor of the opponent due to the 3 sanctions accumulated by the Cuneo judoka. With clarity and without losing heart, Sanna nevertheless achieved the third step of the podium; a very respectable result in the last high-level race of this 2024 full of satisfactions for the entire team and the technical teachers.
