[코리아투데이뉴스] Gimcheon City will hold the “2024 Gimcheon Fall National Junior Tennis Tournament” at the Gimcheon Sports Town Tennis Court from November 16th to 23rd. This tournament, hosted by the Korea Tennis Association and organized by the Korea Secondary Tennis Federation, will feature individual singles matches for men and women over eight days with more than 400 tennis players from middle and high schools across the country participating.
Gimcheon City holds the Spring National Junior Tennis Competition in February and the Fall National Junior Tennis Competition in November every year, striving to improve the performance of domestic youth tennis players and provide them with practical experience.
In particular, Gimcheon City is introducing a system in which all participating players advance to the finals without any players eliminated from the group stage in order to provide sufficient playing opportunities. The 1st and 2nd place winners from each group advanced to the final championship tournament, and the 3rd and 4th place players advanced to the main challenge tournament, allowing players to gain diverse game experience.
This type of game management method allows players to participate in more games to improve their skills while also having a positive effect on the local economy through the players’ long-term stay, which is well-received by both the event organizers and local small business owners.
Meanwhile, Gimcheon City successfully completed the “79th Korea Tennis Championships” on November 10, and the “2025 National Squash Team Selection Tournament” is scheduled to be held at the Gimcheon Sports Town Squash Stadium on November 18.
