[시사일보=강승호 기자] Tennis tournaments are being held one after another in Gochang-gun to revitalize the sport and revive the local economy.
On the 9th and 10th, the ‘1st Gochang-shaped Holy Grail Jeonbuk Club Tennis Tournament’ will be held for two days, and on the 12th, the ’13th Gochang-gun Cup Jeonbuk Isun Tennis Tournament’ will be held at the Gochang Sports Town Tennis Stadium and Auxiliary Stadium.
About 500 Jeonbuk tennis players are expected to participate in each tournament.
Gochang-gun expects that through this competition, Jeonbuk recreational sports enthusiasts will participate in healthy sports activities and contribute to revitalizing recreational sports in the region.
In addition, thorough preparations are being made to ensure that this tournament, held in a stadium harmonized with the beautiful nature of Gochang, will become a precious memory for club members.
To expand the tennis base, Gochang-gun built six new tennis courts in Gochang Sports Town last month and plans to complete the construction of a new public playground tennis court management building by the end of the year.
Gochang County Mayor Shim Deok-seop said, “We will continue to actively support the hosting of various sports competitions, including tennis competitions.”
