Guanajuato.- This Tuesday, at the facilities of the CODE León I Sports Macrocenter, teacher Libia Dennise García Muñoz Ledo, governor of Guanajuato, presented the State Sports Award to the Guanajuato athletes of the National Competition System.
Among the athletes who were awarded, Prisca Awiti stands out, who won the silver medal in the judo discipline during the Paris 2024 Olympic Games; as well as Ángel Camacho, a paraswimmer who won two bronze medals and one silver during the Paris 2024 Paralympic Games.
“As governor and as a mother, seeing your achievements makes me feel proud. Today we have paid tribute to those who have made this their passion, to the athletes and coaches,” were the words of García Muñoz Ledo during the event.

Yendi Cortinas López, director of the Guanajuato State Sports Commission, for her part, said: “We care about their medals, but even more that they are good people, who contribute values to society. That is why we are from this trench to work for you every day as allies to achieve your dreams.”
The recognition was also granted to the athletes who participated in the CONADE National and Paranational Games this year, who gave Guanajuato fourth place in the medal table with a total of 297 medals: 85 gold, 97 silver and 115 more than bronze.
It is also worth mentioning that Paranational athletes won 123 medals: 73 of them gold, 25 silver and 25 more bronze. Likewise, at the National Indigenous Meeting, three medals were won: one gold, one silver and one bronze.
