Guillaume Sémeria-Soucail is the new president of the Yvelines tennis committee. The president of TC Buc was elected for four yearson Friday November 8, 2024 during a general meeting, against the outgoing Francis Éveillard, by 440 votes to 370 (22 abstentions). No fewer than 23 other people on his list will join the next steering committee (31 seats).

Before the vote appointing the future boss of the third most important committee in France in terms of number of licensees, the only two candidates in the running presented themselves to the assembly.

The ambitions of the new committee boss

Guillaume Sémeria-Soucail, a sports fan, said he was passionate about the idea of ​​further developing tennis within the department. For four years, he has worked for the Ligue Île-de-France and wants to benefit the Yvelinois committee from good practices observed in other territories.

In his program, three pillars essential. The first is that relating to human resources: “Volunteers and teachers are a valuable resource. This is why our priority is to put women and men back at the heart of our clubs and our departmental economy,” he assures.

“Tennis is much more than a sport, it is a vector of social connection, surpassing oneself and solidarity. Strengthening the foundations that make up this wealth means access to tennis for all, healthy tennis, adapted tennis, women’s tennis. All these practices are essential and create cohesion, rapprochement and social bonds. »

The outgoing president’s record was not enough

Francis Éveillard defended his record, and in particular thesignificant increase in the number of licensees during the last mandate (from 37,805 in 2021 to 44,519 in 2024, an increase of 17.76% and a penetration rate of 3.02%).

“The vast majority of the points included in the program that I proposed in 2020 have been carried out, and always in compliance with federal policy. The quality of our work in different areas has been recognized both regionally and nationally. »
