The co-founder of Cirque du Soleil can boast of being the owner of a unique object of its kind.
With his fortune estimated at more than a billion US dollars, Guy Laliberté can afford pretty much everything he wants (and everything WE want too).

But beyond luxury cars, Pacific islands and opulent mansions, the 65-year-old philanthropist’s most fascinating possession is undoubtedly the last hot dog sold at an Expos game at Olympic Stadium.
Indeed, according to what the Facebook page reports Montréal Loves BaseballLaliberté would have been the purchaser, in 2004, of the “last roteux” prepared during a Nos Zamours joust.
In a publication posted online a few days ago, we learned that a radio station in Trois-Rivières had launched a competition to get their hands on the last hot dog, and then sold the sausage sandwich at auction , for a good cause.
It was none other than Guy Laliberté who got his hands on it, in exchange for a modest sum of 2,600 dollars.
Obviously, you must ask yourself how a hot dog can be preserved for twenty years in good condition.

The Montreal Loves Baseball publication clarifies this mystery.
“While the bread was preserved, the sausage itself required a special touch. A scientist from the University of Trois-Rivières created a mold of the sausage to place on preserved bread, while the real hot dog sausage kept safe in a jar. The whole thing, including the bread, the mold, the ticket and a gold plaque with the date of the last match, was transformed into a sort of trophy,” the message mentions.
All that’s missing is the return of the Expos, and Guy will be able to enjoy his roteux in memory of the good old days.
We can even provide him with the mayonnaise of the time.
