A true Berching native is the new Christ child. 17-year-old Hanna Brandmüller is taking on the heavenly office this year. At a press event, the advertising community and the city presented the new Christ child, who this year is accompanied by the angels Sarah Gerber and Lena Meixner.
In real life, the Christ child is currently attending the twelfth grade at the Neumarkt technical college. Hanna Brandmüller’s hobby is sport. And their angels are very musical. “Sport and music go well together,” says Barbara Schoyerer from the advertising association, which has been trying to find a Christ child for Berching for over 25 years.

The fact that Hanna Brandmüller is taking on this task this year is a dream come true for the 17-year-old. She has been an angel before and knows the Christmas market in Berching and the various occasions on which the Christ child is out and about with the angels. She always wanted to be a Christ child one day, said Brandmüller. “And if not this year, then when?” she thought to herself and approached Barbara Schoyerer, who was immediately enthusiastic.

Hanna is very enthusiastic about sports and talented, as is her family. Mother Carmen played handball for a long time at TSV, father Christian was a gifted footballer at TSV. Hanna has been playing handball at TSV since she was a child, currently with the A-youth team in the district league. She has also already completed appearances with the HSG women in the district league. In addition to handball, she also plays tennis successfully in Berching.
