The glorious period of the Dallas Cowboys dates back to a very distant time and it seems that one of their former players was swimming in, let’s say, excessive nostalgia.
Now an analyst for the NBC Sports network, Jason Garrett has worn a few hats in the NFL. Before acting as head coach, he was the backup quarterback for the Texan team, when Troy Aikman was shining brightly. But during the American Thanksgiving of 1994, he was injured, just like second pivot Rodney Peete. Dallas therefore turned to Garrett, who excelled during a game against the Green Bay Packers, to such an extent that he received the turkey drumstick to which the most deserving player of the meeting is entitled.
However, people believing that the hero of the day devoured his present in the moment of saying it are royally mistaken.
“You know what? I kept it in the freezer, it was covered with thin foil. I probably kept it for 15 years and then we moved. The other day I asked my wife if we still had the turkey leg. She told me that she hasn’t been there for a long time,” he admitted on air Thursday.
In the 42-31 victory against the Packers, Garrett threw two touchdown passes and totaled 311 yards of aerial gains.
