The match against NOP in Ermelo was played on Monday evening, November 18. NOP is 2 places above Wezep in the group, an excellent opportunity to steal points from a higher ranked team. The men’s doubles was won in 2 sets by Jan and Reinard from Badminton ’80. The first set after an extension with 20-22, the 2nd set the NOP gentlemen scored ‘only’ 15 points. A good start! The ladies from Wezep managed to score 17 points in the first set of the women’s doubles, but unfortunately lost the 2nd set 21-12. Reinard managed to pull off a three-setter in the singles. He won the first set well, but he only managed to score 17 points in both the 2nd and the third set and therefore had to give up the victory. Jan fell short in 2 sets. The ladies started their singles with a 3-1 deficit. Esther L. showed in the first set that she did not give up easily, with 21-17 it was an exciting set. The 2nd set was clearly for the NOP lady, who won it 21-12. Esther V. achieved a deserved 3-setter. However, she had to give the win to her opponent after three sets. The third set was again an exciting battle at 21-17. With 2 more mixes to come, the score was 5-1 in favor of NOP. Jan and Esther D. lost in 2 sets, both 21-19. Esther V. and Reinard managed to pull off a three-setter that they well deserved to win. For the mix team Badminton ’80/TTL Wezep tandtechniek a loss of 2-6 against NOP from Ermelo.
