Here is the new president of the Capitales de Québec

Charles Demers succeeds Michel Laplante at the head of the Capitales de Québec.

At a press briefing on Monday, the new face of the baseball team said he was “honored” by the trust placed in him by his peers.

Aged 31, Charles Demers has been in the Capitales organization for a dozen years. He was named vice president of the team last January. He will replace Michel Laplante, member and face of the team for nearly 25 years, who recently announced his departure. The latter will advise and guide him in his new functions.

I’m not saying that I’m going to replace Michel Laplante, but I’m going to succeed him. By having a team around me, by being very well surrounded, things should go well.

Humbly, Charles Demers wishes to continue the work started by his predecessor. The Capitals are the three-time defending champions of the Frontier Baseball League.

Sang blue and yellow

The president and owner of the baseball team, Philippe Tremblay, praised the merits of Charles Demers, a man who has the Capitals “tattooed” on his heart.

We did tests: half of his blood is blue, the other half is yellow! he jokes.

He has been involved for years, he is an accessible guy, he is a guy who will be able to ensure the continuity of the Capitals that you know today.

As much as Michel Laplante has made the difference over the last 25 years: Charles Demers will make the difference for the next 25.
