Fewer people do not attend any team at home. Only 2470 on average. Which is a shame. In the current season, Fotbalová Karviná is entertaining and shows above-standard results. The multicultural selection from the border with Poland has lost only one of the last nine games, settled in the middle group of the Chance League and can realistically think about the elite six. The primary reason for the progression? New coach Martin Hyský (49). “It goes behind him,” says stopper Dávid Krčík. “We definitely don’t want to play for relegation. I believe that we will not go down that road,” adds the coach with a past in Slavia.
When he loses and sees that his wards left everything they could on the set, Martin Hyský publicly praises him. The whole team, specific players and also the opponent. Like on Sigma Saturday. He doesn’t look like the grunt some people think he is. He is demanding, strict, clings to details. And he sticks to his philosophy, although it doesn’t exactly translate into results. “He changed it from the ground up here. I dare say we play some of the best football in the league. We players enjoy it too. That seal is from him, he is factor X,” said stopper Dávid Krčík.
The 49-year-old coach has a clearly defined path from which he does not deviate. That’s probably why Karviná started to score points regularly after an embarrassing start, and few opponents were able to beat her. “It’s up to him,” said the Slovakian fullback.
