Holten Youth Judo Team: Hunting for medals in Dormagen

(JTH) November 11, 2024 – Lennart Hagenguth, Johanna Lübbe, Marian Keuschen, Ariane Lübbe and Linus Gertzen from the Holten judo team brought home one gold and two silver and bronze each from the district cup tournament in Dormagen. Eva Chernobyl had already finished fifth at the International Bayer Cup in Leverkusen in October.

The district cup tournament, in which the Holten judo team took part at the invitation of the Nievenheim Judo Club, was aimed at judoka of the U11, U13, U15, U18 and senior levels. Johanna Lübbe started in the U11 (-28kg) and came in second place. Her older sister Ariane competed in the U13 (-33kg) and won bronze. Marian Keuschen won a silver medal in the U13 (-46kg). Milo Beckers remained the only fighter for the JTH in the U15 that day. In the double knockout system he made it to seventh place.

Gold, silver and bronze for Holten judoka

With Linus Gertzen (-73kg) and Lennart Hagenguth (-66kg), the oldest youth group finally started in the pre-pooled system. Both Holteners completed four fights, Gertzen finished the tournament in third place, Hagenguth won gold. Bundesliga fighter Robin Ellerbrock started with the seniors and also confidently won gold in two fights. The International Bayer Cup took place in Leverkusen in October, where Eva Chernobyl came fifth in the U17 (-52kg) in the pre-pooled system.

Open day on November 16th

Those aged 13 and over will have the opportunity to train together with the Holten youngsters of the U15 and U18 as well as the youth coaches and Bundesliga fighters this Saturday, November 16th, at the open day at the Sophie-Scholl-Gymnasium between 10 a.m. and 6 p.m . “We want to show what a great sport and what a great community judo is and invite everyone to get a taste of judo for themselves,” said Holten’s youth officers Jennifer Petrich and Nadine Kremeier.
