I sink into Piacenza. Imolese dominates at the Garilli, wiping out Piacenza who are increasingly in crisis with little difficulty: only one goal in almost 500 minutes, they haven’t won since mid-October and the team is in the playout zone. There is little to say, Piacenza is first of all not a team, then come the other problems: half the summer transfer window on the bench, without rhythm, without ideas, there is almost the impression that the players are waiting for the opening of the December market for a general stampede. Imolese sweeps the red and whites away – and the protests about the 0-2 goal are useless – and certifies that Rossini’s problems are decidedly bigger than one might think. Now Piacenza really risks remaining, but what is most impressive is the paucity of this team: poorly prepared, defense always in trouble, midfield devoid of construct, apathetic attack. The Imola, as mentioned, walks and eliminates the red and whites without problems. It opens with Manes, doubles with Pierfederici and then closes it with Brandi at the start of the second half.

Rossini immediately makes heavy choices especially up front where there are Mauri in support of Manicone, in midfield Doria on the right and Ruiz on the left with Bachini and Grieco in the middle to complete the 4-4-2; Corradi and Sartore are not in the squad due to injuries. Tactical choices that leave the time they find because after a few minutes Doria and Ruiz exchange areas of competence. Imolese started better and stronger, taking control of the game by crushing the red and whites in their own metafield and in the end in the 17th minute they deservedly took the lead: the pressure from Doria first and then Grieco then on the three-quarter line was too weak and without strength, Manes what he wants in the sense that first he supports, then he waits, finally he enters the area from the left, swerves and drinks Somma in his handkerchief and crosses Franzini. In short, usual Piacenza: without rhythm, with very poor quality, devoid of ideas, scared and so on and so forth. Furthermore, Rossini’s choices (Solerio, Andreoli, Recino, Santarpia, Iocolano on the bench and Sartore injured for over a month now) do nothing but be a heavy sentence on the total disaster of the summer choices in the transfer market: the fault of the former sporting director alone Sestu can’t be. At the end of the first 45′ Piacenza becomes slightly more comforting, some danger arrives in Adorni’s areas, but it’s really very little. The team is the same as usual, in fact, 6′ from the end, the red and whites focus more on the fact that Silva (who left to have his head treated) didn’t return to the field immediately, Imolese does what he wants, a bell tower reaches the limit from the area which Pierfederici volleys home: 0-2. Piacenza crying and protesting, Imolese playing, scoring and annihilating the Emilians.
We start again with Recino replacing Iob; only 180 seconds pass and Pierfederici takes the Piacenza defense by surprise again with the free kick from the attacking midfield, which is collected from the back of the pitch by a teammate who sends it back into the middle and Brandi scores the goal which makes it 0-3. Reaction shortly after, with Mauri slapping a short clearance from Adorni into the net from two steps – Doria’s conclusion – and the red and whites still in the running? It’s just a wishful thinking: Imolese gives football lessons to Piacenza and on several occasions comes close to scoring the fourth goal and wins with ample merit.
