Each year, the Sports Department actively participates in the development of international sports cooperation by supporting approved sports federations and national public establishments through a call for projects, in order to encourage the exchange of good practices and expertise between the latter. and their foreign counterparts.
The objective is to encourage and help the French sports movement to seek expertise or to disseminate French sports expertise internationally and to participate in strengthening bilateral ties, while ensuring a link with the diplomatic objectives of the French State in sporting matters.

Training in animation and marking for sports educators from member countries of the African Hiking Confederation (CARP)
The FF Randonnée Pédestre contributes to exporting French expertise in itinerary design to support the local development of hiking within the African Hiking Confederation (CARP) which includes Burkina Faso, Niger, Benin, Togo, Senegal, Cameroon, Burundi, the Democratic Republic of Congo, Guinea and Ivory Coast.
This is why, in November 2023, a delegation went to CĂ´te Ivory to conduct a second training session, in continuation of the actions carried out last year, in order to prepare the deployment in all CARP countries.
This mission notably made it possible to continue the training plan for facilitators and planners-markers on the basis of a single training course, to work on the creation of marked routes, but also to design a development plan for tourist hiking, in conjunction with the Ivorian ministry.
Sharing expertise with dominant nations in world softball (United States and Japan) to advance the discipline in France
Between 2016 and 2022, France went from 24th au 14th world level in Women’s Softball. To continue this positive dynamic, the FF Baseball and Softball has implemented cooperation actions regular matches with two dominant nations in the discipline, Japan and the United States, on the preparation periods for major international deadlines. This resulted in the organization of 5 development courses with the professional team of Ogaki Minamo (Japan) and the team from the University of Texas (USA) in order to improve the knowledge, skills and experiences of executives. techniques of the France pole, and develop bridges between the three countries to direct French players towards university and professional structures.
Supporting the skills development of African triathlon sports educators
At the dawn of the Paris 2024 Games, the FF Triathlon has supported several African sports federations in increasing the skills of their triathlon educators. This resulted in the establishment of training courses for trainers in Benin and Senegal but also in support for the organization of a sports training course in Senegal for young high-level African athletes of to participate in the Youth Olympic Games, organized in Dakar in 2026. The latter was an opportunity for the French federation to share its good practices in matters of final preparation for an event (training, hydration, nutrition, race management, recovery, etc.) and thus increase the influence of French triathlon internationally.
In total, more than thirty sports educators from Senegal, Benin, Niger, Sierra Leone and Guinea were trained and were able to practice in a competitive situation, while around a hundred triathletes been affected by these actions.
Developing judo at school in the United States
Drawing on its expertise in the field of teaching judo at school, the French Judo Federation wanted to get involved and share its know-how in order to develop this sport globally. within schools in the United States by creating the “Judo at School” program with the aim of popularizing the discipline. Thanks to a partnership with the Agency for French Education Abroad (AEFE), the Federation targeted affiliated French schools but also American schools in Los Angeles, Charlotte and San Diego. In total, 40 teachers and more than 320 children participated in the training sessions.
The second objective of the project aimed to promote French judo through the implementation of an event during the 2024 Olympic and Paralympic Week from April 4 to 7 at CAL State University in Los Angeles, bringing together French and American schools. , and American clubs. This event helped build the bridge between the two Olympics, and brought together between 230 and 250 people over 4 days, while integrating several local partners.
Co-creation of a universal guide to arbitrate the run-archery
The French Archery Federation is one of the most proactive and advanced federations in the development of run-archery internationally. After having carried out work with its international counterparts aimed at structuring the discipline, developing a competition management tool and then designing a training method, the French federation aimed to create an educational tool for refereeing.
Thus during the year 2023, the FF was at the origin of the establishment of numerous webinars and information and training seminars, involving experts (judges or coaches) from the United States, Australia, Brazil, Colombia, Egyptian, Emiratis, Indian, Italian, Ivorian, Sri Lankan, Syrian, Tunisian, Turkish or Czech. A work which finally led to the publication of a practical guide in English and French of 80 pages aimed at supporting the practice and more particularly the organization and refereeing of run-archery competitions.
France-Germany international scientific cooperation around the practice of high-level fin swimming
The French Swimming Federation has set up a research project entitled PhysioNAPin collaboration with Germany, to explore and compare high-level performances in fin swimming. This study focused on evaluating performance both in the water and dry, in order to identify the factors contributing to excellence in this discipline. On this occasion, elite athletes from both countries participated in this research, thus providing a wealth of data on physiological and biomechanical aspects.
This study identified significant differences in performance based on the gender and nationality of athletes, highlighting the impact of national training methodologies. The results thus underlined the importance of a personalized approach adapted to cultural and biological specificities in the training of swimmers with fins, and a fortiori made it possible to optimize training techniques and strategies to improve the overall performance of athletes.
