Ajax plays the best football in the Netherlands, claims journalist Henk Spaan in his regular column on behalf of Het Parool. The columnist, who is known for his preference for Ajax, is impressed by Francesco Farioli‘s team.

Spain is over the moon after Ajax’s 5-0 win over Maccabi Tel Aviv. “I didn’t think I would dare say this now that Farioli has only been active for about four months, but there he goes: Ajax is currently playing the best football in the Netherlands.”

The journalist seems to be of the opinion that Ajax has surpassed rival PSV. “Unfortunate for Peter Bosz, who was first passed on the inside by Arne Slot and now on the outside by Francesco Farioli,” writes Spaan.

Spain singles out striker Brian Brobbey in particular. The Dutch international receives a 9 for his performance against Maccabi. “Brobbey had two assists, and what kind of assists, and a goal with a shot that the language poor would call ‘rock hard’.”

“I would rather hear original metaphors that describe Brobbey’s class. Like: ‘I wish he could be my table companion at a friends dinner.’ Everyone gives Brobbey everything. He’s your big brother. Looking at him, the slow tear is always lurking,” said Spaan.

Brobbey has been called up again for the Dutch national team by national coach Ronald Koeman. The physically strong striker can report to Zeist on Monday for international matches against Hungary and Bosnia and Herzegovina.

On Sunday, Brobbey first travels to Enschede with Ajax. The Amsterdam team will be hunting for three points against FC Twente at 2:30 PM. Last May, teammate Steven Berghuis punched a Tukkers supporter after Brobbey was racially treated on the way to the bus.
