  • He came to Colombia to work for a year, but the food of the region made him change his mind and he will stay in Pereira.

Fascinated by Colombian gastronomy such as chicharrón, beans and motivated by the delight of the typical corn arepas that are consumed in the Eje Cafetero region, Kaisei Iwamoto, badminton coach of the delegation of the department of Risaralda, decided to settle permanently. permanently in the city of Pereira, even though he only wanted to stay for one year.

Since last March, Iwamoto came from Japan to the municipality of Dosquebradas in Risaralda, to support the sports training process in badminton, in view of the participation of this delegation in the I National Youth Games.

All thanks to the fact that it is currently part of JICA (Japan International Corporation Agency), an organization whose objective is to support training processes in Latin America.

Although the agreement is only for one year, Iwamoto decided to stay in Pereira entirely, motivated by that delicacy like pork rinds and arepa. In addition, for other products such as the diversity of fruits, flowers and its constant visit to the Otún River. Likewise, for the beautiful landscapes of the natural reserves, such as those seen in La Switzerland.

And although in the First National Youth Games, Iwamoto will not enter sporting action until next November 22, it is common to see him fresh, with his Asian touch that stands out in the stage stands and always accompanied by his pupils: Jared Galvis , Juan Felipe Moreno and Juan Andrés Martínez, who, according to him, his affection for them was another reason to stay in the Coffee Region supporting their sporting process with badminton.
