Jon Jones is considered by many, fans and professionals, as the best fighter in history. Youngest champion in UFC history, Bones continues to set all records. Former champion of the light heavyweight category, the American reigned supreme in his division before choosing to move up to the premier category. After three years of absence, the New York native produced an exceptional performance to win the title at UFC 285. On November 16, 2024, during UFC 309, the latter will put his title on the line against Stipe Miocic.
Retirement ?
Jon Jones has already accomplished everything in the UFC. However, the American wants to cement his legend even more. If he beats Stipe Miocic, Bones wants to compete against the superstar and light heavyweight champion Alex Pereira. In interviewthe New Yorker explains: “ It’s my performance against Stipe Miocic that will tell me if I continue or not. My goal is to achieve a dominant performance. Then, I have choices for the future. Either I retire or face Alex Pereira in a huge event, for the belt or not. Honestly, I don’t need a belt anymore. I think fighting Pereira could be amazing, we’re the same age, same height […] If I don’t face Pereira, then I will think and move on with my life ».
