Joseba López from Vitoria will continue for two more years at Caja Rural

Yesterday Caja Rural announced the renewal of Joseba López from Vitoria (2000). The 24-year-old cyclist debuted his record of victories in 2024, the second among professionals, in the Arrábida Classic (Portugal), and will continue for at least two more years in the Navarrese team. Together with the continuity of Joel Nicolau, they already have 20 cyclists for the next campaign, in which they hope to return to the Vuelta a España as guests.

Joseba López will share training with two more people from Vitoria. Javier Ibáñez, who makes his debut among professionals at 22 years old, and Julen Arriola-Bengoa, born in Eskoriatza but settled in the capital of Álava from a very young age. With the trio of the green squad, Alava cycling will once again have at least eleven representatives in the elite. Mikel Landa (Soudal Quick-Step), Oier Lazkano (RedBull Bora) and Markel Beloki (EF Education-EasyPost) in the top category (World Tour) and Ibon Ruiz (Kern Pharma), Jon Aberasturi, Víctor de la Parte, Jokin Murguialday and Andoni López de Abetxuko (Euskaltel) and the Caja Rural trio in the second step.

Euskaltel closes the workforce

Yesterday Euskaltel-Euskadi closed its roster of 21 riders with the signings of David Dekker (Arkea) and Van der Tuuk (Kern Pharma). There is no place in it for Unai Cuadrado from Alava, who aims to hang up his bike at the age of 27.
