Josh Giddey thrives in Chicago

The offseason trade between Josh Giddey and Alex Caruso, respectively to the Chicago Bulls and Oklahoma City Thunder, was beneficial for both franchises. The Bulls got a point guard who can be a part of their future, while the Thunder added an elite defender to pair with Shai Gilgeous-Alexander.

Giddey thrives in Chicago and shows flashbacks of what he was like in OKC. Giddey and Coby White filled out the Bulls’ backcourt, moving Zach LaVine to power forward.

Giddey is doing a great job of reestablishing his reputation as an all-around player.

Heading into Friday’s game, Giddey is averaging 13.6 points, 6.6 rebounds and 7 assists in nine starts. His stats are all up from 2023-24, with assists per game being a career best. Giddey is also shooting efficiently at 40.6%, while limiting his turnovers to just 2.6 per game.

Giddey has an opportunity to showcase his playmaking ability, and as a restricted free agent next season, he shows teams he can be a true contributor.
