The harvest was good for the Red Devils at the Dakar International Judo Open which was held from November 21 to 24, 2024. Alberto Kem’s Bokandji is the name of the second Congolese who won another gold medal to this international competition.
Alberto Kem’s Bokandji is the second judoka to bring a gold medal to Congo in this judo competition after Amour Gédéon Ibata Okombi. The second champion from the +100kg category proudly presents himself with his medal in one of the souvenir photos. The latter beat the double champion of his category at home. Which means that Congo ends in fourth place in the senior competition.
At the end, the Congolese will return to the country with one gold medal and three bronze medals with the exception of the medals obtained in the lower category.
This international judo competition brought together several countries namely: the United States, Kenya, Romania, Gambia, Mauritania, Tanzania, Congo, Madagascar, Cameroon, Morocco, Ivory Coast and Senegal the host country.
