Saturday, November 23 at the Cécile Nowak dojo in Saint-Marcel, the 1st Senior regional championship for mixed teams took place.
Indeed, it was France Judo’s desire to create a new national championship for mixed teams, 3 women’s and 3 men’s, the same formula as during the Paris Olympic Games where France won in an epic final against the Japanese.
A total of eight teams were entered to try to secure a place in the final, synonymous with qualification for the French Senior mixed team championship.
In a group of 4 teams, we beat Creusot by 5 victories to 1, then Châlon-sur-Sâone 4 victories to 2, and finally, we lost by 5 victories to 1 against AJBD 21-25 in the last group meeting.
Second in our group, we met in the semi-final the winner of the second group, AS Quetigny.
Badly started and leading 3 victories to 1, the Clementins managed to reverse the trend by winning the last two fights by ippon.
They won at the last minute, 3 victories everywhere, 31pts to 30pts.
The final won, where they once again found the AJBD 21-25, the objective of the national selection was achieved but the team was keen to perform better after a clear defeat during the elimination phases in the group.
Unfortunately, the Clementins, a second time, lost with the clear score of 5 victories to 1.
No regrets, the Seniors gave everything and they qualified for the first time for the French Senior Mixed Team Championship on May 24 and 25 in Villebon-sur-Yvette.
The team consisted of:
– 57kg: Caroline Bouchoux.
– 73kg: Baptiste Campos et Gianni Georges.
-70kg: Kim Gandriaux.
– 90KG: Quentin Lamothe and Steven Hadj (reinforcement of Dojo Côte d’Orien).
+70kg: Léa Voutey (reinforcement of the Judo Club Fontaine Française).
+90kg: Luca and Julien Crost.
This silver medal and this qualification for the French Senior mixed team championship are a great satisfaction and a source of pride for the Clémentin Judo Club.
