Judo Club of Gérardmer/Le Tholy: a page turns

The general meeting of the Judo Club of Gérardmer/Le Tholy took place Saturday morning at the Halle des Sports in the presence of local elected officials Karine Bédez and Jamel Ghomerani. It was the last as president for Mikaël Bussière who gave up his place and leaves behind a structure in Olympic shape.

Indeed, last year the club had no less than 289 members and should reach yet another milestone this season, partly thanks to the Olympic Games effect, confided Mikaël Bussière in the preamble to the annual meetings. The latter therefore leaves the presidency after 5 years of good and loyal service, whereas originally, he had only taken the presidency for one year. “To ensure the transition”, as he says himself. Finally, he got into the game and, better than that, he achieved the objectives he had set for the Judo Club: “I did everything I wanted, whether in terms of projects associations as well as athletes, thanks to a team who agreed with me, that helps. I want to thank them all, everyone who followed me and trusted me. But I want to focus again on the sporting aspect, that’s what I prefer, it’s my specialty,” declared the outgoing president.

Another source of pride for him, on a financial level, the club ended the year once again in a positive position despite the expenses in terms of training courses, the organization of sporting events, the purchase of equipment, etc. Proof that cash management is sound. At the sporting level, Mikaël Bussière highlighted the fact that the future was assured with one of the large groups of young people, and in particular among the chicks and the youngest. 17 young people are also registered in the Haie Griselle sports section, a section which is finding its cruising speed. And as always, all the judokas proudly represented the colors of the club beyond the borders of the department, notably with very good results at the Veteran Masters. To conclude, Mikaël Bussière also thanked the private and institutional partners of the club, and in particular the City of Gérardmer, long-time supporter.
