The Hauts-de-France judo team traveled to Bègles, this Tuesday, November 19, for the last day of the Judo Pro League. A contested meeting which saw the locals win.
Salomé Messaoui was the first judokate to run for the HDF. She was opposed to Melissa Dumontier, French champion in 2nd division in 2023. A disputed confrontation. Despite some good attempts on the ground by the visitor, the local defended well, and this confrontation ended in a draw. The former resident of ASC Judo and third at the last French senior championships, Meane Korval faces Pierre Dumontier. The Béglais was a tough opponent. Indeed, he is a bronze medalist at the individual European Open and individual champion of France 2nd division. A very technical confrontation on the ground where everyone gets to express themselves. But it was ultimately Meane Korval who managed to immobilize his opponent for 20 seconds on the ground and who won for Hauts-de-France..
It is now the Amiens native Manon Pecqueux who appears on the tatami. Facing her stood Léa Beres, twice medalist at the French senior championships. The local scores a waza-ari after only ten seconds. The Amiénoise tries to regain control but cannot do so. She defends herself well against a more experienced opponent. The fight ends with a score of 1-0 in favor of Bègles. It’s Lionel Bebey’s turn to fight for the HDF. Faced with the champion of the European Open Individual, Ibrahim Aliyevthe visitor enters his fight well by scoring a waza-ari in the first minute but his opponent responds instantly by also scoring a waza-ari. After the mid-fight timeout, the Béglais attacks and pushes his opponent to the ground. He manages to set up a submission hold pushing Lionel Bebey to give up. Romane Dyot arrives on the mat to try to equalize. Facing the Olympian in Tokyo, Sandrine Billiet, the HDF member produced a great fight and mastered the ground phase. She first scores a waza-ari thanks to 10 seconds of immobilization then transitions to a elbow lock forcing the abandonment of the local. At the break, the HDF and the Dojo Béglais are tied with two wins for each but an advantage on points for the visitors: 21-11.
Returning from the break, Baptiste Lallau faces Esteban Roulaud. B.Lallau scores a waza-ari after 30 seconds then tries to score a second, but does not succeed. He wins 1-0. The sixth confrontation is between Léa Mbaye, for the HDF, and Candice Lebreton, for the Dojo Béglais. The local takes advantage of her larger size to put pressure on and maintain the advantage. She scores an ippon after 50 seconds of combat. Ourouzmag Magkeyev will try to restore the advantage to the HDF against Joris Guillot-Rosselot. The Béglais takes his opponent to the ground, scoring a waza-ari, then manages to immobilize him for 10 seconds. O.Magkeyev lost in 37 seconds by waza-ari awasete ippon. Bègles regains control four victories to three. The penultimate fight sees the clash between Israa Daghari, for the visitors, and Dounia Nacer for the Aquitaine team. A contested fight which saw none of the judokates stand out. It ends in a tie. With Luka Lomidze absent, it is the turn of his colleague at ASC Judo, Georgi Dadiani to try to finish the job against Alex Khouma. The start of the fight is in favor of the local who tries more while the visitor is on the defensive. The Amienois resists well but takes a waza-ari 35 seconds from the end of the fight. He puts all his strength into the battle to try to win but in vain. Dojo Béglais wins 5 to 3 and 32-22.
The Hauts-de-France judo team therefore ends its season with a record of one victory for three defeats. A positive result, compared to last year, and the young composition of the team. Several members had not yet participated in the French Senior Championships. The more experienced members were able, for their part, to continue to validate their acquired knowledge and observe avenues for progression. A promising season for the future. We can’t wait to follow their journey during the next rounds.
