The Hauts-de-France judo team is traveling this Wednesday, November 13 to Asnières-sur-Seine to compete in the third day of the Judo Pro League. Facing her, the semi-finalist of the 2023/2024 season, AM Asnières Judo 92. A meeting scheduled for 7:30 p.m., which can allow the HDF judokas to place themselves well in the race for the final phases before the last day.
To everyone’s surprise, the semi-finalist of the previous edition is having difficulty starting his season. The Asnières-sur-Seine team has still not won a match and has a record of two defeats in two matches. “Maybe this is the right time to confront them”confides Lillian Barreyre, coach of the Hauts-de-France judo team. However, the Asnières judo team should not be underestimatedparticularly in the -90 kg category featuring Maxime-Gaël Ngayap Hambou, bronze medalist at the Paris Games. The northern coach expects “a complicated, but beautiful encounter” and he approaches it with a very clear objective: “hang on to a result to think about qualifying for the quarter-finals. » Leaving Asnières with victory would allow the northerners to have their destiny in hand and not to depend on the results of other teams; even if “a draw would not be a bad result heading into the final day” admits Lillian Barrett.
A return with three points would place Hauts-de-France in a very good position for qualification for the quarter-finals. But, there is no question of hearing about bonus points for the technician : “We are not targeting him, because if a judoka leads a fight, it would be a shame to make him take risks when the most important thing is to secure victory”. This bonus point will perhaps be an objective that will appear during the last meeting, on November 19, against Dojo Béglais, another team in difficulty. Compared to the defeat against OM Judo, only two changes of judokas are planned within the Hauts-de-France team to face Asnières.
