The Frankfurt Adler Cup is a high-class, international tournament in which judoka from all over the world compete – 1,700 martial artists in different age and weight classes who determine their best over two days. A delegation from KSV Bad Aibling was also there.
The judoka from the spa town showed strong performances and were able to keep up well; the in-depth training in the local sports industry paid off.
Luise Wachtel’s performance was outstanding, as she impressed with great techniques, achieved a strong third place and was able to celebrate the bronze medal at the end.
Coach Robert Buendowski is pleased: “Luise won the bronze medal with really, really strong fights!”
60 kg man Maxim Weisser started on both days of the competition. On Saturday in the U17, where he was eliminated and injured his shoulder, bad omens for the next day of competition.
But things turned out completely differently than expected: the next day, despite the injury, things went better. The seventeen-year-old white man fought sensationally and reached the final with strong nerves. He had to give this up, but in the end he was able to look forward to the silver medal he deserved – at international level – after a great performance.
The other KSV judoka also showed appealing performances: Nora Skrynecki, Stefan Holzmaier, Maxi Osterloher, Esther Hanus, Maria Willibald, Sarah Filgertshofer, and league fighter Lukas Wiedemann fought hard.
KSV board member Denis Weisser: “Great performance by the troops, I would like to thank the supervisors!”
