Junior Lake hit a two-run double in the seventh inning as the Leones del Esgido won their 16th game by defeating the Águilas Cibaeñas 9-7 in a Saturday afternoon game at the Quisqueya Juan Marichal Stadium in Santo Domingo in the season of the Dominican Fall-Winter Baseball League 2024-2025.
The Leones del Esgido, led by Albert Pujols, defeated the Águilas Cibaeñas of Puerto Rican Yadier Molina for the second time. A three-run attack by the Lions in the bottom of the seventh inning defined the game.
Lake, with the game at a 6-7 disadvantage, hit an 86-mile changeup that Luis González served him, which sent him to the center field channel area, towing Erik González and Luis de los Santos for the final score of the game. 9-7.
