– It is clear that it is a lot of money. But we have a good economy and will cope with the loss, says David Måsegård, club manager.
It was this weekend that it became clear that Kalmar FF will leave the Allsvenskan and will therefore play in the Super Eta next season. Something that means major financial interruptions.
Halved revenue from Swedish elite football
During its years in the Allsvenskan, the club has received SEK 26 million in contributions per year from Swedish elite football, money that is paid out for television rights, among other things. When the club now ends up in the super league, that sum is halved.
– It will be 13 million instead and in addition we have to count on reduced income in the form of audience loss and probably also reduced sponsorship income.
Find the way forward
The association has now started the extensive analysis work that will result in a plan going forward.
– There is a lot that needs to be reviewed. But I am convinced that we will land on a good plan to get back to the Allsvenskan as soon as possible.
Before the last round, there is a microscopic chance to stay in the Allsvenskan. But with three points and eleven goals to take at Värnamo, it’s practically over already.
