A Sportsman Guided by his Family
Employed at the SNCF and father of three children aged 15, 11 and 9, Karim ACHI was originally a fan of football and bodybuilding. Four years ago, driven by the enthusiasm of his children, he took up judo. First a judoka, he quickly became a volunteer, then was elected president at the general assembly last September. This role allows him to implement his dynamic vision to develop the club.
A Club Open to All
The RCC Judo counts today 230 licensees of 3 to 88 years old. In addition to judo classes, the club offers various activities:
- Kata and refereeing techniques
- Taiso and muscle strengthening
- Sessions adapted for people with disabilities
The club currently collaborates with DO and theADAPT de Caudebec, and Karim wishes to further develop parajudo to promote inclusion. For him, judo is much more than a physical discipline, it is a vector of respectd’mutual aid and of discipline :
“The salute is already a sign of respect,” he recalls.
Its objective is to make the club a real family where everyone can flourish, far from the image of a simple daycare.
Heading to the Future
The RCC Judo already shines at all levels of competition: departmental, regional, national and international. In January 2025, the club will organize a competition at La Villette sports complexand Karim dreams of seeing a Elbeuvien basin interclub tournament.
With him at the head, the club continues to grow, faithful to its values ofinclusion and of surpassing oneself.
